Technical DescriptionPicada wall panel is an advanced surface cladding system that reproduces the voluminous and rhythmic character of historical stone block masonry through a fiber-reinforced composite structure.
The panel texture is created through a multi-stage molding process based on the surface fractures of large stone blocks, edge wear, the arrangement of horizontal and vertical joints, and the interaction of natural stone with light.
The micro-roughness distribution and depth of texture on the surface reflect the light–shadow transitions of real stone walls with high accuracy; the shadow play that becomes more pronounced depending on the angle of incoming light gives the panel a sense of spatial dynamism.
The panel is built on the integrated load-bearing effect of a composite body combined with a fiber-reinforced top layer. This structure eliminates the heavy weight of natural stone while providing mechanical rigidity, impact resistance and form stability. The fiber reinforcement prevents the panel from bending, twisting or deforming under load even across large surfaces; risks such as surface cracking, delamination or structural fatigue are minimized.
For this reason, Picada is a comprehensive cladding solution that remains stable for many years in both interior and exterior applications.
The surface coating is specially formulated to resist outdoor environmental effects. Its low water and moisture absorption, combined with resistance to UV radiation, extreme temperature differences and freeze–thaw cycles, makes the panel suitable for façades, balconies, outdoor walls and humid interior environments. Its stable surface structure limits unwanted effects such as color fading, surface wear or dirt retention over long-term use.
Picada wall panel has a flexible material structure suitable for on-site cutting and drilling operations. The panel can be easily processed to accommodate sockets, outlet openings, small penetrations, corner turns or niche details.
These operations, performed with standard handheld cutting and drilling tools, preserve surface integrity and offer freedom in architectural solutions.
Mechanical fastening (screw + dowel) is recommended for installation, ensuring that the panel is securely anchored to the surface and maintains its form integrity for many years.
From a sustainability perspective, Picada requires less energy during transportation and installation due to its lightweight composition; its long-lasting surface reduces maintenance frequency and optimizes material consumption. Its composite manufacturing structure significantly reduces the need for natural stone, contributing to resource conservation.
Thanks to these characteristics, the product can offer advantages in projects aligned with the evaluation criteria of green building certification systems such as LEED, BREEAM and WELL.
Picada brings technical performance, aesthetic character and environmental sensitivity together in a single structure redefining the natural stone effect at an advanced level within modern architecture. -
