Technical DescriptionCork Quercus is a decorative cladding panel with a three-dimensional cork texture, formed by the combination of a mineral-based composite structure and fiberglass reinforcement. Although lightweight, its strong body is engineered to perform at a high level under static loads and impact forces. The surface features an embossed topography that reproduces the micro-porous character of natural cork; this topography is created through precision molding technologies that preserve micron-level organic details. When light interacts with the surface, the reliefs create soft and shifting shadows, bringing depth and sensory warmth to the environment.
Mineral fillers, polymer binders, and UV-stable pigments used in the composite structure ensure stability over large surfaces and provide durability with low thermal expansion against temperature changes. Even in applications exposed to high heat, the material does not show physical degradation. The fiberglass reinforcement preserves the panel’s form under bending, dissipates energy during impacts to reduce cracking risk, and increases resistance to tensile and shear stresses. This structure makes the panel a long-lasting solution for both interior spaces and controlled exterior environments.
Acoustically, the surface geometry breaks mid-frequency sound reflections, creating a more comfortable atmosphere indoors. During freeze–thaw cycles, no surface delamination, shelling, or cracking occurs; the material maintains stable behavior in thermal transitions. Thanks to its lightweight body, it does not add excessive load to the application surface; its large panel size provides a more seamless appearance with fewer joints. Its design—compatible with screw-dowel systems speeds up installation, while the material’s workability allows cutting and shaping with standard tools.
The material composition and manufacturing approach of Cork Quercus align naturally with international green building certification systems. Compared to traditional stone or high-density construction materials, it is produced with significantly lower resource consumption, and its lightweight structure reduces energy use during transportation and installation. Its long service life contributes to LEED and BREEAM criteria regarding material selection, resource efficiency, and life-cycle performance. The absence of harmful chemicals and its neutral effect on indoor air quality support the health and user-comfort objectives of the WELL standard.
With these qualities, Cork Quercus is a high-performance surface solution that blends the organic warmth of natural cork with modern composite technology offering durability, acoustic benefits, sustainable production, and long-lasting form that aligns with LEED, BREEAM, and WELL certification goals. -
