Baobab Moss
An organic surface experience that brings the mossy, shadowed, and vibrant texture of aged tree trunks into architecture.
Baobab Moss is a fiber–fiberglass-based wall panel that reinterprets the cracked and moss-textured surface movements seen on old tree trunks in a three-dimensional embossed form. Its mineral-stabilized structure maintains dimensional stability under temperature and humidity variations, while the deep texture profile enhances impact resistance and provides a long-lasting cladding solution with minimal joints across expansive surfaces.

Technical DescriptionThe Baobab Moss Panel is an advanced fiber- and fiberglass-based wall panel engineered to reproduce the naturally formed mossy tree bark textures through three-dimensional surface replication techniques. The panel surface features a rich topography composed of porous bark structures, irregular moss-like transitions, cracked formations, and grooved textural movements. This organic structure is transferred from the master mold—created with high-precision surface modeling without loss of detail, allowing the panel to capture and convey the multilayered, random character of natural bark within architectural spaces.
Its structural base is formed by fiberglass layers stabilized with mineral additives and polymer binders. Despite its low surface density, this composite system delivers high mechanical strength, ensuring stable performance under both horizontal and vertical loads. While mineral additives contribute to surface hardness, fiberglass reinforcement increases the panel’s resistance to bending, deformation, and impact-induced surface deterioration across wide areas.
Baobab Moss is engineered to maintain dimensional stability in applications with significant temperature fluctuations. Its optimized thermal expansion behavior prevents blistering, linear separation, and deformation. The deep embossed profile helps disperse impact energy across the surface, minimizing fatigue and extending the panel’s mechanical lifespan.
Surface components are formulated to provide long-term durability against UV exposure, humidity, water vapor, chemical atmospheres, and various outdoor conditions. Under sunlight, the surface does not chalk or fade, and no textural erosion occurs. During freeze–thaw cycles, the fiberglass core maintains its elastic behavior, allowing the panel to perform reliably in exterior conditions without cracking or delamination.
The panel’s lightweight and large dimensions apply minimal static load to supporting wall systems and reduce the number of joints required, resulting in a more natural and seamless appearance. The fiberglass base provides excellent workability, enabling cutting, drilling, and shaping to fit project-specific needs. Its compatibility with outlet points, lighting integrations, and service passages enhances installation flexibility. Mounting is performed using screw–dowel mechanical fastening, and the stable core structure provides strong anchorage at connection points for long-term durability.
The Baobab Moss Panel—with its high mechanical strength, impact-dissipating embossed geometry, atmospheric surface stability, thermal resistance, strong performance despite low density, and acoustically supportive topography is a reliable engineering-driven yet aesthetically expressive cladding solution for both interior and suitable exterior applications.
Its advanced composite composition and environmentally considerate production approach align naturally with sustainable architectural standards. Its lightweight structure improves energy efficiency during manufacturing, transport, and installation, while its long-term dimensional stability enhances material longevity. Free from harmful chemicals, it contributes to indoor air quality and supports user well-being. These qualities make Baobab Moss compatible with LEED, BREEAM, and WELL certification criteria related to material health, durability, resource efficiency, and indoor comfort.
Baobab Moss combines the organic texture shaped by nature over time with modern composite technology, offering a powerful, sensory, and long-lasting surface experience for architectural spaces. -
